Privacy policy

The short version

Roundly does not collect any personal data. The app has no account, no analytics and no tracking. The Mac App Store version never connects to the internet. The direct-download version contacts roundlymac.com only to activate and occasionally re-check its license.

The app

Roundly only reads the shape of your display and the position of your pointer, locally on your Mac, to draw the rounded corners. Your settings are saved on your Mac only.

License activation (direct download only)

When you activate the direct-download version, it sends your license key, an anonymous device identifier (a one-way hash of your Mac’s hardware ID, which cannot be traced back to you) and your Mac’s name to roundlymac.com. We store this to limit a license to 3 Macs and to let you deactivate a Mac. When you buy directly, we also store the email address of the purchase together with your license key so we can help you if you lose it. Legal basis: performance of the contract.

Purchases

Purchases in the Mac App Store are processed by Apple. Direct purchases are processed by Stripe through its reseller Link, LLC, which acts as merchant of record and processes your name, email address and payment details for that purpose under its own privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy).
